When we checked in on The Chamberlain (269 West 87th Street) at the beginning of the year, developers Simon Baron Development and Quadrum Global had just begun work on the newly cleared site. A recent visit revealed that the 18-story, 39-unit condominium is well on the rise. Architecture critic Carter Horsley notes “numerous unexpected grace notes and detailing” in this building designed by FXFowle; the Art Deco-inspired tower will feature strong vertical piers and intricate brickwork accented by decorative ironwork.

Apartments have already entered contract and start at $2.55 million for two-bedrooms.
