For nearly 50 years, the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club’s most prominent fundraising event has been Kips Bay Decorator Show House, which invites celebrated interior designers to transform every room in a New York City townhouse into an exhibition of luxury furnishings, fine art, and state-of-the-art technology. The event has raised millions of dollars for the non-profit, expanded to Palm Beach and Dallas, and given designers incredible exposure, but it has not always been seamless – in 2010, the event was postponed because the property hosting the show house sold.
One particularly memorable home to the event was 337 Riverside Drive; also known as "The River Mansion," it has attracted the likes of actress Julia Marlowe and Seagrams heir Edgar Bronfman Jr. Shortly before the event began in May 2023, owner Sherry Bronfman listed it for $24 million. The price was reduced to $20 million in October 2023 before being delisted in February 2024. It returned to the market for $12,995,000 in April 2024, but a $3 million price cut brings it just below $10 million at $9,995,000.
