Did the freakishly warm weather and leap year allow for more time on February real estate transactions this year? It's a little early to say, but we do know that it was a busy month for artists, athletes, actors, and anchors all over New York. Below, please see the top celebrity transactions reported in the past month.

1. Lewis Hamilton - Reduced to $52,000,000

Lewis Hamilton is a six-time Formula One racing champion, but things are evidently not moving as fast with his penthouse at the star-studded 443 Greenwich Street. The New York Post reported that Mr. Hamilton bought the apartment for $44 million in 2017 but never moved in. He listed it for $57 million in March 2019, and just slashed $5 million off the price.

Much has been speculated about what will happen to WeWork’s real estate holdings throughout New York, and that applies to personal real estate as well. The New York Post announced that former CEO Adam Neumann has recently listed the Irving Place townhouse he bought and transformed with his wife, Rebekah Paltrow Neumann (not pictured). The home has an airy atmosphere and dramatic spiral staircase connecting all three levels.

As CNN gets ready to move its headquarters from Columbus Circle to Hudson Yards, its chief has a move of his own in store: In the wake of their divorce, Jeff Zucker and wife Caryn Nathanson (not pictured) have put their Upper East Side apartment on the market. The New York Post broke the story and reported that the couple purchased it from the late actress Kitty Carlisle Hart for $12.3 million in 2007.

Between his recent signing with the Portland Trailblazers, possible reconciliation with estranged wife Lala, and listing his full-floor Chelsea condo, it would seem that basketball star Carmelo Anthony has barely stayed out of the headlines in all areas. But he’s not saying good-bye to New York - 6sqft reports that he is looking for another, presumably smaller home in the city.

Barely two weeks after his star-studded show at New York Fashion Week, the New York Post announced that his Greenwich Village townhouse in the Superior Ink development found a buyer...just one day after the price was reduced! He prepared for his move to a Frank Lloyd Wright home in Westchester with husband Char Defrancesco (not pictured) by selling his high-end artwork and tchotchkes in an auction at Sotheby’s.

6. Eduardo Hochschild - Purchased for $8,450,000

It is not unheard of for billionaires to accumulate art collections, but this one’s extends to his New York apartment. Eduardo Hochschild, chairman of Hochschild Mining and Forbes billionaires list mainstay, recently purchased a half-floor home at 53W53, the Jean Nouvel-designed tower with the Museum of Modern Art’s expansion at the base. The New York Post extolled the interiors by Thierry Despont and notes that the master bath’s golden travertine was from Mr. Hochschild’s native Peru.

And so it goes: Peabody Award-winning journalist Linda Ellerbee, best known for her work on Nick News, has sold her West Village townhouse, which is just around the corner from “the Huxtables’ house.” The Real Deal reported that it originally went on the market for $10.75 million in 2017.

Renee Fleming may be generating headlines for her recent performances of Bjork songs, but the opera diva has been quite busy off-stage: Over six months after it went on the market, her Upper West Side combination apartment found a buyer. The Real Deal notes that this came in below the original $6.9 million asking price, but still above the $4.3 million she purchased the two units for in 2007.

Photographer Diego Uchitel is known for his celebrity portraits (including, but by no means limited to Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lopez, and Sarah Jessica Parker), which have made him an artist in his own right. Special report: CNN anchor and Edward R. Murrow Award winner Don Lemon has put his Harlem apartment on the market two years after selling an adjacent one-bedroom. This one was presumably purchased as part of a plan to combine units, and indeed, he is looking for a bigger space in the neighborhood. The New York Post reports that his fiance, Timothy Malone of Elliman, has the listing.

443 Greenwich Street (see above) may be one of New York’s most star-studded downtown buildings, but further uptown, 409 Edgecombe Avenue could give it a run for its money. The Harlem cooperative counts W.E.B. DuBois, Duke Ellington, and Aaron Douglas among its past residents, and the New York Post reports that Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall and actress Erica Ash even had an apartment in common. Ms. Ash, who divides her time between New York and Los Angeles, has just put it on the market.
