While soaring new Midtown towers 53 West 53 and Central Park Tower put up impressive contract numbers from April 17-23, 2023, the top deal took place at 443 Greenwich Street, a low-rise building dating back to the 1880s and a celebrity favorite following its conversion to condos. Residence #5H, a four-bedroom home that combines original details with modern appliances and fixtures, entered contract with an asking price of $15,900,000. Neither the buyer nor seller was identified, but the contract was signed shortly after Jennifer Gates, medical student and daughter of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, was identified as the buyer of Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton's $51 million penthouse.
