Surprise! Another luxury rental tower debuts in Downtown Brooklyn.
This one, called The Lane, is a project from Quinlan Development Group and Lonicera Partners, and construction first began at the site in 2015. It rises to 21 floors at the intersection of Boerum Place and Red Hook Lane, and the building's façade features classic brick and a contemporary window wall designed by Ennead Architects.
Inside are 108 apartments with up to three bedrooms and listings recently made their debut on CityRealty offering up to two months free on a 14-month lease; studios start at $2,443/month, one-bedrooms at $2,700/month, two-bedrooms at $4,084/moth and three-bedrooms at $5,914/month.

Interiors have a peaceful aesthetic, and some of the floor plans are very spacious, including a select number with wraparound terraces. Units have oversized soundproof windows in the living areas and bedrooms which come equipped with convenient solar shades. All one-bedroom units have kitchen islands and walk-in closets, and three-bedroom units have large storage rooms.
Open kitchens have plenty of counter space and storage, and are designed with sleek custom-built white cabinets, and the stainless steel appliance package includes a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave. Baths have Italian porcelain tile along with Porcelanosa fixtures, and the residences come equipped with a Bosch washer/dryer.

The homes are indeed luxurious, but there isn't anything entirely distinguishable from other new rental buildings in the same area, which include the 25-story 33 Bond Street and the 15-story Giovanni at 81 Fleet Place. To compare prices, in October's Citi Habitats Rental Report, the median rent in Downtown Brooklyn was $3,200/month; and on CityRealty, there are around 230 rental listings in the neighborhood priced from $1,850 to $9,690/month, with a median price of $3,111/month.
Residents enter the building through a double-height lobby attended by a 24-hour concierge staff, and there are a variety of amenities throughout the property, including a children's playroom designed by local educator Carmelo the Science Fellow.
There is a lounge and club room with a spacious outdoor terrace, and a third-floor amenity level includes the fitness center with FitLink exercise programming. The landscaped rooftop terrace has grills, shuffleboard and views of Downtown Brooklyn and the Manhattan skyline.
The Lane's location is within a 5 minute walk to eight major subway lines, and is near the endless dining entertainment and retail options in Downtown Brooklyn, Fort Greene, and the surrounding area.
