A co-living community on Manhattan's Lower East Side at 324 Grand Street recently launched, offering 47 living spaces within a newly built 7-story structure between Orchard Street and Ludlow Street. The site was developed by Empire Capital Holdings and its facade features an outstanding mural by notable street artist Cryptik.

It is part of the Quarters brand of communities and the residences and shared areas are in a setting both modern and stylish, and the experience intends to emphasize both privacy and community. Room types range from 80 to 130 square feet, priced between $1,749 to $2,749 per month. New residents will have application fees waived until March 31st and you can sign-up to be contacted by Quartets here.

The building joins a collection of properties run by the German firm Medici Living Group which the Wall Street Journal reported in 2017 has 1,200 units world wide. This location includes 15 furnished apartments with three or more bedrooms with shared kitchens and baths. Finding roommates in New York City can be a challenging experience, but the firm offers a matching service and also has onsite staff to provide services and plan resident events.

Another outpost of the Quarters brand is located in the East Village at 629 East 5th Street. It's slightly larger with 71 co-living spaces and offers a similar experience.

Co-living is a great option if you don't need a lot of space and love conveniences. At 324 Grand Street, there is wifi and high speed internet throughout, which is included in the all-in price of the rental, along with all utilities and even laundry. The common areas come fully furnished with premium brands like Casper mattresses. Other noteworthy features include keyless entry and members-only spaces including a rooftop terrace.

The location boasts an "international community of creative spirits" and joins a growing list of NYC co-living properties including Ollie's Alta LIC and Common's 595 Baltic Street.
