The high-rise at 49 East 34th Street was only completed in 2007, but already has quite a history. It previously served as a hotel, but underwent an adaptive reuse renovation in 2009 for residential use. Starting in 2012, owner CIM Group leased the property for two years to BridgeStreet, which got in some trouble for running the building as an “extended-stay hotel"; a settlement was reached in February 2016. In 2017, CIM Group sold the building, which was then known as Madison Park Tower, to a joint venture between Morgenstern Capital and TLM Equities LLC for $80 million. Most recently, it has been rebranded as The Knox and is now leasing.
A series of one-bedrooms is on the market, and prices start at $2,850/month. The price is net effective to reflect two months free rent, and is roughly in line with the local median price of $2,999/month for one-bedrooms (figures per CityRealty listings).
