As Murray Hill became a hot spot for renters of all ages, development of new buildings has started to make its way to the Kips Bay borders. Case in point: The Lex, a 15-story, 37-unit rental between East 33rd and 34th Streets and helmed by Lions Group NYC, has launched rentals with studio- to three-bedroom units available from $2,700 to $7,250 per month. Modern Spaces, a Queens-based brokerage firm, is handling marketing and leasing, while a new website offers further details.
C3D Architecture wrought the street-facing facade as a sheer glass surface bisected with thin vertical mullions and splayed horizontal bands at alternating floors, lending the building a distinct appearance. These expansive windows let ample sunlight into the interiors, which are decked in Terra Lengo engineered hardwood floors. Kitchens come with quartz countertops, Samsung appliances, and Bosch dishwashers. Kohler and Hansgrohe fixtures and glassed-in walk-in showers feature throughout the bathrooms. The building’s small footprint allows for roughly two to three units per typical floor, creating a sense of privacy in every unit.

The Lex stands a block away from the 33rd Street station of the 4/6 train, and within a ten-minute walking distance to the Grand Central Terminal, Bryant Park, Macy’s at Herald Square, Madison Square, and the promenade and ferry on the East River.
The building’s rental prices match those in the surrounding neighborhood, recently rebranded as NoMad. Our listings indicate 90 apartments available for rent in NoMad, with studios running at a median price of $3,597/month, one-bedrooms at a median of $4,742/month, and two-bedrooms coming in at a median of $7,490/month.
