1 Thomas Street offers condo-quality, loft-style rental residences in historic Tribeca. Built in 1870, the five-story building was designed by David and John Jardine, and originally stood across the street from a look-a-like counterpart that was unfortunately demolished decades ago. The pair of buildings were dubbed the “Thomas Twins”, and the surviving twin, 1 Thomas Street, achieved landmark status in 1989.
The surviving building, 1 Thomas, recently underwent a top-to-bottom renovation carving out eight premiere rental units on its top 8 floors. The renovations were undertaken by Greenberg Farrow and its classical cast-iron exterior boasts impressive arched windows topped by scrolled keystones and bordered by stately Corinthian columns.
Interiors are gorgeously-appointed, featuring ultra-high ceilings, exposed brick, and Bosch washer/dryers. Scavolini designer kitchens feature Liebherr refrigerators, Bertazzoni ranges and microwaves, and Bosch dishwashers. Spa-like bathrooms feature Lacava vanities, Waterworks fittings, and Atemide lighting. The building is complete with elevator access, a virtual doorman, and a landscaped, furnished rooftop deck.
Interiors blend old world charm and modern refinement. Units comprise four 1-bed, 1-bath residences spanning 850 square feet apiece, and four 2-bed, 2-bath residences with en suite master baths comprising 1,100 square feet apiece. There are currently two no fee apartments for rent: a 1-bedroom unit for $5,250/month and a 2-bedroom for $8,250/month.
