Get ready for another ultra-luxury Manhattan rental tower.
The team behind the high-rise under construction at 222 East 44th Street have debuted a teaser site announcing a summer 2018 launch and have also revealed its name - Summit. The tower is in Midtown East between Second Avenue and Third Avenue just two blocks away from Grand Central Terminal and within the neighborhood of Turtle Bay/United Nations where current rental listings have a median price of $3,600/month. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing will handle leasing though pricing has not been revealed.
The former parking garage site has been redeveloped BLDG Management who worked with Handel Architects for the building’s exterior. The tower rises to 43 floors and will accomodate 429 apartments in studio- to three-bedroom configurations. Additionally, a trio of exterior renderings provide new glimpses of its final appearance

Summit will have a classic drive court with trees and landscaping leading to a 30-foot-high glass lobby. The base of the building is also accompanied by 2,300 square feet of ground floor retail. While new renderings don’t take us inside the property, interiors by Escobar Design are expected to be luxurious. The glass tower has a pivoted design dotted with balconies, allowing the residences to have expansive midtown skyline and East River views.
There will be a 41st-floor lounge featuring a dining room, screening room, children’s playroom, indoor swimming pool, sauna and outdoor terrace - and more amenities are expected to be announced as Summit gets closer to launch. Read more about the new building on CityRealty here.
