525W52 is a 392 apartment rental complex in Midtown West’s Clinton district, completed in 2017 by Taconic Investment Partners and Mitsui Fudosan. Handel Architects divided the project between a 22 story building on West 52nd Street and a 14 story building on West 53rd Street, giving the block long, asymmetrical façades shaped by setbacks and terraces.
The complex includes 79 affordable apartments. Its stepped massing is most pronounced along 52nd Street, where recessed sections and a series of setback terraces break up the larger building, while landscaped courtyards and an atrium occupy the interior of the site.
Apartments have floor-to-ceiling windows, oak floors, in-unit washers and dryers, solar shades, and custom closet systems. Island kitchens and walk-in closets recur in larger layouts, while high floor homes may have higher ceilings, multiple exposures, open city views, or views toward the Hudson River; private terraces are tied to the building’s upper level setbacks.
The 24 hour attended lobby is joined by concierge service, resident storage, a fitness center and yoga studio, a library, business and event rooms, and a screening room. Recreation spaces include a sports lounge with billiards and golf simulators, a game room, a roof terrace and sundeck, and an outdoor deck with grills, bocce, ping pong, and shuffleboard. The building also has bicycle storage and pet grooming services, and pets are allowed.
Taconic Management Company is the residential property manager for Taconic Partners, a real estate firm founded in 1997. Based in New York City, it oversees apartment rentals across Manhattan and the Bronx, with amenities like rooftop terraces, fitness centers and lounges.
