Notable Neighbors: Celebrity Real Estate News

FEBRUARY 24, 2011

Living next door to Tyra Banks might not be too pretty; Uma and Heather find buyers in the Village; A-Rod buys, Robin rents at Rushmore.

Tyra Banks is mashing four apartments that she bought in Battery Park City’s Riverhouse for $10 million last year together into one maxed-out pad. Neighbors have been complaining about all the construction noise (via NY Post) coming from the top model’s remodeling spree.

Uma Thurman’s lovely 5,086 square foot apartment at 18 West 9th Street in Greenwich Village is now in contract for the $14.2M price she put it on the market for in May; Uma has since moved to Gramercy Park (via Curbed NY).

Beatle-ex Heather Mills is also free of her Richard Meier-designed digs at 173 Perry Street. The Dancing with the Stars star found a buyer for the 1,800 square foot “glass house” apartment for around $5M (via Curbed NY).

Yankee-about-town Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez has stopped hunting and found a home at the Rushmore at 80 Riverside Boulevard (WSJ). The third baseman–who was reportedly fed up with the lack of privacy at his uptown rental at 15 Central Park West—picked up the 35th floor, 4-bedroom condo for around $6 million. A-Rod’s new neighbors will include Robin Williams (via NY Post), who also just moved in at the riverside condo building while working on Broadway (“Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo”). Robin’s renting (for $15,000 a month) a 4 bedroom 2,489 square foot apartment that had been listed for sale at around $4 million.
