Timberburg is a 23 unit Williamsburg condominium planned for completion in 2027 at 179 North 10th Street. The project reworks a 1950 structure, retaining first floor masonry walls while adding a new concrete foundation and a 75 foot cross laminated timber frame, planned as the tallest construction of its kind in the city. Tahir Demircioglu Architect designed the building for developer KSK Construction Group.
Exposed cross laminated timber ceilings form a central part of the interiors. Ceiling heights are about 9 feet 6 inches in standard layouts, while duplex living spaces approach 20 feet with double-height volumes. Thirteen residences have private outdoor space, including loggias and terraces, and a pair of penthouses divides the top floor, each with its own terrace. Several larger homes pair south facing living areas with broad window openings and dedicated home offices.
The all electric project is targeting Passive House certification through an airtight envelope, high performance windows, energy recovery ventilation and high efficiency mechanical systems. Residences have central air conditioning and in-unit laundry. The building also has a rooftop terrace with an outdoor kitchen, a lounge, fitness center, bike room, package room and pet grooming station. Pets are allowed.
Seventeen deeded parking spaces are offered separately, with individual electric vehicle charging. McCarren Park is close by, while the Bedford Avenue station for the L train is three blocks away; the restaurants and shops of Bedford and Driggs avenues are also nearby.
