All apartments will have views. Historic districts surround the building so no other high rise apartments can be built to block the views. The building will include a gym and a huge common park on the grouds for residents only. WIndows will be floor to ceiling so the views will be spectacular. 46 floors with 248 apartments. The 7 Train will be extended 1.5 blocks away in 2009--this makes this a great investment or corporate rental candidate. Intrepid is at the end of the block. A new marina will be built just north of the Intrepid in the next few years. Just minutes to the subways, Times Square, Restaurant Row and the Theatre District, as well as being located for easy access to the rest of the city.

"A 46-story tower designed by Costas Kondylis and built by the Monian Group will contain 478 studio to 2-bedroom apartments. Kondylis`s tower is marked by four bold notches that define the curtain wall into sections. The corners will be mostly glass. Unlike the Orion, which has a sleeker overall look, this tower will have visible punched HVAC grills under the windows. In this part of town buyers can expect these large developments to function as self-contained cities. Atelier will have a parking garage, health club, pool, and rooftop lounge. Manhattan`s 42nd Street has seen much change over the last two decades. The latest chapter is the expansion of a residential corridor west of Times Square. The projects in this area tend to be large and the street life is still very much a work in progress. But Extel`s glassy Orion condominium has proved that there is a demand for new apartments with modern amenities in this location. Following on the heels of the Orion comes the Atelier condo at 627 West 42nd. Developer Larry Silverstein recently began construction work on River Place II just across the street from the Atelier. At 53 stories, it will be even taller than the 900-unit rental River Place I Silverstein completed four years ago, when the area was considered a residential outpost rather than a destination for developers. Moinian`s partner in the Atelier project will be MacFarlane Partners, who are big believers in the area. MacFarlane is already partnered with the Related Companies to build a 60-story, 800-unit residential tower at 10th Avenue, just one block east of the Atelier."

Clients I have brought over there love the bldg but feel it's too far from transportation, restaurants, etc. With the 2 new bldgs going up right next door & across the street maybe the neighborhood will start to feel a little less remote."
