Every spring, the NYCXDESIGN Festival draws design enthusiasts from around the world for panels, showcases, studio visits, block parties, and other events celebrating New York City's robust architecture and design communities. One of the cornerstone events is the NYCxDESIGN Awards, now in its tenth year, which showcase the best in architecture, interiors, and product design across the greater New York City area.

64 University Place is a striking addition to Greenwich Village, seamlessly blending the neighborhood's industrial heritage with contemporary design. To harmonize with neighboring buildings, the façade showcases a five-bay grid defined by arched windows and crafted with hand-laid brick masonry.
The building houses 28 serene, minimalist condominiums that serve as a tranquil canvas for personal expression while staying rooted in the vibrant cityscape. The design emphasizes natural light, spaciousness, and structural elegance, with interiors defined by raw materials, a muted color palette, and refined craftsmanship—from the welcoming lobby to the peaceful rooftop garden—creating a harmonious balance between urban life and private retreat.

Situated at the corner of East 25th Street and Second Avenue, Hendrix House brings a distinctive Art Deco-inspired elegance to Kips Bay with its curved façade, oversized windows, and graceful lines. Named after Dutch settler Hendrick Kip, the building honors the area’s historical roots while offering 59 studio to two-bedroom condominiums with contemporary interiors by Paris Forino.
These thoughtfully designed homes feature clean lines, soothing palettes, built-in home office spaces, wide-plank European oak flooring, central air, smart entry systems, and in-unit Bosch washers and dryers, with select residences boasting curved window walls or private terraces. Amenities include a striking double-height lobby, lounge, central courtyard, coworking space, fitness center with steam room and saunas, and a rooftop terrace complete with grilling stations, dining areas, and sweeping views of the Empire State Building.

130 William is the first residential building in New York City designed by acclaimed architect Sir David Adjaye, in collaboration with Hill West Architects. This 66-story condominium tower reshaped the Lower Manhattan skyline with its bold, distinctive design, featuring dramatic arched windows set within textured, hand-crafted concrete façades that pay homage to the area's industrial masonry heritage. The building's striking architectural language continues into the interior, where the magnificent arched windows fill every unit with incredible natural light.

Finalist: Multi-Unit Housing

One High Line is a twisting two-tower development spanning the full block between 17th and 18th Streets. The towers are dramatically connected by two angled, two-story skybridges (one featuring a retractable movie screen) and are anchored by a landscaped mid-block court and elegant entrance marquees. Despite the dramatic tilts of the towers, the windows remain vertical within bronze frames, creating a visually captivating contrast and offering unique perspectives, especially from the dramatic vista between the buildings. The West Tower’s base features a distinct, narrower fenestration pattern that emphasizes verticality, while the East Tower continues the tower’s fluid sway.

Located in the heart of Tribeca's sought-after 1003 ZIP code, 85 Worth Street maintains its original Italianate white marble façade with elegant molded window surrounds, band courses, balustrades, and bracketed cornices. Interiors masterfully fuse historic charm with modern innovation, featuring original cast iron columns and wood beams alongside high-tech amenities. This boutique condominium comprises four expansive lofts and one penthouse, each residence including two large storage rooms located in the building’s two subterranean levels, which also house an exclusive residents’ club with lifestyle and wellness amenities.

The Huron is a 13-story condominium situated on Greenpoint’s East River waterfront and designed to reflect the neighborhood’s industrial heritage. Acclaimed architect Morris Adjmi says they intentionally avoided using a lot of glass and cited Greenpoint's manufacturing and shipbuilding histories as inspiration.
Nearly half of the units inside offer private outdoor space, and apartments were designed to make the most of sweeping views of the East River and Manhattan skyline. Residents enjoy 30,000 square feet of curated amenities as well as direct access to a public esplanade and the Greenpoint ferry, enhancing the building’s strong connection to both the water and the city.

Rising at the intersection of Chelsea and the Flatiron District, 10 West 17th Street brings a refined presence to one of Manhattan’s most vibrant neighborhoods. The building thoughtfully integrates into its historic surroundings, yet stands out with a cast concrete facade that makes it appear draped in fabric. With just 15 residences, including a duplex penthouse occupying the top two floors, it offers an exclusive and architecturally sensitive addition to this cherished district.

Finalist: On the Boards

Soaring 88 stories and 1,000 feet into the Manhattan skyline, 520 Fifth Avenue is set to become the tallest residential tower on Fifth Avenue. Inspired by Hugh Ferris and the grandeur of nearby Beaux-Arts landmarks, the building features a tiered silhouette and a glazed terracotta façade with ten-foot arched windows.
The top 40 floors house 100 one- to four-bedroom residences with sweeping river-to-river views and direct sightlines to the Empire State Building. Interiors by AD100 designer Vicky Charles combine rich modernity with timeless elegance, showcasing European-inspired mosaics, custom millwork, veined stone, 14-foot ceilings, wide-plank white oak floors, and marble baths with radiant heat. Move-ins are expected to begin later this year, and the building is over 90% sold.

Ideally located near the Brooklyn Bridge, Cadman Plaza Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Heights Promenade, local shops and eateries, and multiple subway lines, the building offers spacious units with oversized windows, open layouts, custom-millwork kitchens with Bosch appliances, and bathrooms featuring glass-enclosed rain showers and custom vanities.
