A rendering has been revealed for a forthcoming residential development at 2337 Bedford Avenue in Flatbush. Samuel Wieder Architects shared the image which shows a potential six-story structure rising form the corner of Tilden Avenue and Bedford Avenue, a site that has been home to an auto shop and parking lot for many years. Demolition permits have been filed for the single-story structure currently at the site, but permits for a new building have not been filed.
The design has industrial touches including factory-style windows and a redbrick facade with black cladding. According to Samuel Wieder Architects, the property will host 27 units and the rendering shows several private balconies and a landscaped rooftop. The location is roughly two blocks to Flatbush Avenue where you’ll find the rehabilitated Kings Theatre and an abundance of retail. Nearby transit includes the 2 and 5 train at Beverly Road and Nostrand Avenue and also the Q at Beverly Road and East 16th Street. Many properties in development throughout Brooklyn feature a design by Samuel Wieder Architects including a 41-unit project at 2175 Bergen Street in Crown Heights, an 18-unit project at 135-137 Prospect Avenue in Gowanus and a 32-unit project at 1595 Broadway in Bushwick.
