Almost immediately following Trump’s inauguration and the introduction of some of his more odious policies, several buildings lobbied to remove the Trump name in protest. Of the eight New York City buildings that kept the name, CityRealty’s Trump Report, as released in 2018, showed prices in Trump-branded buildings dipping below average prices for all other Manhattan condos.
In the days following January 6, 2021, Trump’s reputation took a deep hit in the business and real estate communities, and some owners refused to even mention their address out of reluctance to be associated with him, however distantly.
