At 60 Fulton Street in the Financial District, just a few blocks south of Manhattan's entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge, a new art-themed luxury residential building is making its debut. Its name, Exhibit, represents a unique living experience created for residents; a collection of more than 100 pieces of art from notable creators, including photographers and designers, is on display throughout the building.

The private collection was curated by Jody Britt of Britt Fine Art Consulting, whose vision of iconic and rare photography pays homage to a time in Manhattan when "music, art and pop culture exploded and creative expression flourished." Much of the art appears in common areas and has been paired with a "daring" interior design by Andres Escobar.

The 23-story luxury residence kicked-off leasing in 2017 for the 120 units, which come in studio to two-bedroom layouts; some have additional living space that can be used for a home office or to create an extra bedroom.

Leasing is handled by the Heller Organization and many listings offer two months of free rent on new leases. Studios start at $2,525/month, one-bedrooms at $3,700/month and two-bedrooms at $5,250/month. The on-site leasing office is open and prospective renters can take a tour of the building and get design inspiration from lovely model units. There are 30 affordable units and qualifying New Yorkers may apply through April 23, 2018. READ MORE ON 6SQFT HERE

The biggest draw for these rentals are the panoramic views that stretch from the South Street Seaport and across the river to Brooklyn. Over 70% of the units have balconies and listings boast the building offers "the largest private terraces downtown."

Homes have contemporary interiors and finishes with features like wood floors, high ceilings up to 10 feet, custom closets, and floor-to-ceiling windows equipped with solar shades. Italian kitchens by Stevali have quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances. Climate control is offered in individual rooms; pets are permitted; and Bosch washers/dryers are in one- and two-bedroom apartments.

Many of Exhibit's amenities are located on the penthouse floor. Atop the building is a a parlor room, a wrap-around roof deck, a gourmet demonstration kitchen with a dining area, a lounge with 24-foot-high windows, an outdoor screening area, and an indoor/outdoor fireplace.

The building has 24-hour concierge, tenant storage, on-site laundry and a bike room. There is also a fitness center with a yoga studio and Peloton cycling stations, and common areas have "eccentric furnishings" by designer Jimmy Martin.
Permits for the project were first filed in 2013 and at the time, the site was occupied by a multi-level parking garage. Several firms are behind the project including the Parkland Group, Socius Development Group and the Heller Organization. The building was designed by Hill West Architects.

The building's location is just a few blocks from several trains at the Fulton Street Subway Station, and destinations in the immediate area include City Hall, Pace University and the World Trade Center.

The Financial District has a growing residential population and rental buildings in the surrounding area include former office buildings like 180 Water Street and 70 Pine Street, and also new construction like One Dutch and The Lara.
