The Nash stands 25 stories tall at 222 East 39th Street between Second and Third avenues in Murray Hill. Formerly host to the Eastgate Hotel, the tower was built in 1972 and designed by Sidney Goldhammer. The building maintains its two-tone brown brick exterior along with newly redesigned interiors, following the Atlas Capital Group’s $69 million purchase in 2012. The developer tapped Thomas O’Hara of HTO Architect for the conversion and David Shefer Design for interior design.
Of The Nash’s total 187 no fee apartments, eighteen are currently for rent: two studios starting from $2,838/month, twelve 1-bedrooms from $3,254/month, three 2-bedrooms from $5,054/month, and one 3-bedroom for $6,692/month. New leases now include the special concession of one month's free rent on a 13-month lease.
The tower’s newly redesigned residences feature wide-plank white oak flooring and spacious floor plans. Kitchens are equipped with stainless steel appliances, custom Italian cabinetry, full-height natural stone backsplashes, and Caesarstone countertops. Select units also have washer/dryers.
The Nash features a porte-corchere leading residents into a handsome red, black, and white-themed lobby. Amenities include a Gym Source fitness center, resident lounge, and rooftop deck. The smoke-free building also hosts an 86-car parking garage, bicycle storage, a 24-hour doorman, and concierge. Outside the building is lovely sidewalk landscaping and a side plaza, complete with a European-style ornamental fountain with three horn-blowing cherubs.
Situated in Murray Hill, The Nash is close to some of New York City’s greatest treasures. Nearby eateries and bars included Dock’s Oyster Bar and Grill, Bookmarks Lounge, and Nirvana. Also nearby are AMC Loews Kips Bay 15, mang’Oh Yoga, and St. Vartan’s Park in the recreation and fitness departments. With Grand Central Terminal nearby offering many subway lines and Metro North trains, convenience is a key aspect of The Nash lifestyle.
