KRE Group and National Real Estate Advisors, co-developers of Jersey City’s Journal Squared rental complex, have officially launched leasing for the project's first tower at 615 Pavonia Avenue. The 53-story building is set to bring 538 apartments to the area, of which more than 50 percent of which will be one-bedrooms. Studios start from $1,855/month, one-bedrooms from $2,205/month, two-bedrooms $3,240/month and three-bedrooms $4,250/month. When the Journal Squared project is fully complete, the trio of towers will host 1,838 residential units, 36,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, and a newly renovated Magnolia Way Plaza.
Designed by Handel Architects and HWKN (firms behind The Pennovation Center, Williamsburg Tech Hub, and 18 Park), the buildings will feature a modern façade dotted with consistent fenestration. Tower 1 is one of the tallest buildings in the state but will eventually be overshadowed by Journal Squared's 71-story tower.

Interiors will be designed by Christopher Stevens and feature stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors throughout, central air, and in-home washer/dryers. Like most Jersey City residential projects, the tower will host an array of spacious and luxurious amenities, focused on the 8th and 53rd floors. The 10,000-square-foot lounge on the eighth floor will feature a fitness center, a yoga studio, a children’s playroom, a library, a screening room, a sun deck, an outdoor pool, and WiFi. Atop the building will sit a second Skylounge, complete with a communal dining table, a projector screen, seating areas with spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan. The building will also have 24-hour concierge.

The mega-development is anticipated to revitalize the Journal Square neighborhood, much in the way that new development has revived downtown Jersey City. Situated between Magnolia, Pavonia, and Summit Avenues, the buildings will offer residents direct access to the Journal Square PATH station, and create a new pedestrian plaza.
