In the wake of its success throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn, Taconic Investment Partners (“Taconic”) has moved on to the Bronx with Eastchester Heights. The 1,146-unit complex was constructed in 1934 on five city blocks in Eastchester, three blocks away from the Gun Hill Road subway stop. Taconic has not limited its upgrades to the apartments themselves. The entrances and hallways in the buildings were also improved, as were the landscaped courtyards, new playground, and basketball court that residents appreciate on nice days. Amenities also include a residents’ lounge and on-site laundry rooms with card-operated machines. Eastchester Heights is not just an apartment complex; it is a whole community that hosts an annual Community Day celebration, provides on-site childcare, and offers such services as life coaching, job training, and financial advice.
It has been quite a busy time for Taconic; not only did it just renovate Eastchester Heights, but its 392-unit, mixed-income rental 525W52 (525 West 52nd Street) opened for leasing in Hell’s Kitchen last spring.
