Beckford House, 301 East 81st Street

Condo located in Yorkville, at The Northeast corner of Second Avenue

Description of Beckford House at 301 East 81st Street

This condo duo at 301 East 80th Street in the Upper East Side's Yorkville neighborhood occupies the corners of East 80th and 81st Streets. Designed by Studio Sofield, the complex consists of two complementary buildings that together hold 104 one- to six-bedroom condominium residences. Hand-carved limestone and brick façades anchor architectural details like Juliet balconies, intricate ironwork and elegant setback terraces. The 31-story tower, designed to reflect pre-war New York grandeur, has 72 units within, topped by three full-floor penthouses with outdoor space. Enter through a soaring double-height lobby into a grand reception room with a fireplace and a windowed library lounge. Each building has its own amenity suite; the Tower sports a 65-foot swimming pool with a hot tub, double-height basketball court, state-of-the-art fitness center with yoga and training studios, piano bar and lounge, children’s playroom designed by Roto, multi-purpose game room and party room with a catering kitchen and dining area.

One block to the north, 19-story Beckford House similarly conveys an understated elegance and fine details, with 32 residences including a duplex penthouse. Here, a distinguished lobby is wrapped in marble and stone detailing, bookended by a grand sitting and reception room with a dining area, wet bar and fireplace. Additional amenities include a spacious fitness center with a yoga studio and a private rooftop terrace with multiple seating areas, an outdoor kitchen and state-of-the-art appliances.

Yorkville is a classic Manhattan enclave, with local favorites that include Cafe D’Alsace, JG Melon and Candle 79. It’s a short walk to Central Park and Museum Mile, Carl Schurz Park, and Asphalt Green's Upper East Side campus that provides recreation and fitness for the whole family.

Carter Horsley's Review of Beckford House

Carter Horsley's Building Review
"Beckford House is a 19-story building at 301 East 81st Street and Beckford Tower is a 29-story at 301 East 80th Street.  Both are very elegant condominium apartment buildings and they were both erected in 2019 by Icon Realty Management and designed by Studio Scofield and SLCE Architects.  Studio Scofield, which is led by William Scofield, designed the handsome apartment building at 135 East 79th Street that is notable for its sculpted entrance.

Beckford House, which is also known as 1562 Second Avenue, has 32 apartments.  Beckford Tower has 72 apartments.  It has retail on its ground floor and in its cellar. " Read Carter's Full Review
