The Cove JC (Ennead Architects)
Monitor Street is located within Jersey City’s Morris Canal Redevelopment Zone, and the area has been living up to that name. Last spring, plans were announced for The Cove JC, a 13-acre mega-development set to bring a life science and tech hub, a waterfront park, and over 1,500 new housing units aiming for WELL Building Standard certification to the neighborhood. In fall 2021, a groundbreaking ceremony took place for SciTech Scity, a community of lab space, a new K-12 school, a five-acre outdoor park, and two buildings of residential housing dubbed Scholars Village; Liberty Science Center was awarded redevelopment rights for the land, and completion of the first phase is estimated for 2023.
