By virtue of its 1,066-foot height and status as the borough’s tallest building, The Brooklyn Tower would have stood out in the Brooklyn skyline no matter what. However, SHoP Architects founding partner Gregg Pasquarelli has said in a statement that he wanted to make sure it was “striking and singular” from any angle in Brooklyn. This inspired the building’s Neo-Deco crown that adds a touch of elegance to the local skyline.
Construction on the crown has recently been completed, but further work remains underway. This includes installation of “convexacave” columns that shift in shape as it rises, creating a sense of texture and movement. The building's design was inspired by the Dime Savings Bank's hexagonal composition.

The landmarked bank has been incorporated into the new tower, and will house retail space and a second entrance to the residential component. The residences comprise 150 condos and 400 rental units. Market-rate leasing has not yet begun, but a lottery for 120 rent-stabilized units is about to begin. Households earning $90,172 - $187,330 will be eligible to apply for apartments ranging from studios for $2,630/month to two-bedrooms for $3,360/month. Not only does this come in as quite a bargain compared to the Downtown Brooklyn median rent – $3,100/month for studios and $6,080/month for two-bedrooms; all figures per CityRealty listings – but residents will enjoy special offers like one month free rent and $500 security deposits regardless of unit size. Full details may be found here.

The condos start on the 53rd floor so as to make the most of spectacular views. Sales launched in March 2022, and current availabilities range from a studio for $875K to a half-floor four-bedroom penthouse for $6.075 million. Apartments of all sizes feature interiors by Gachot Studios, floor-to-ceiling windows, European White Oak flooring, kitchens with Absolute Black granite countertops and Miele appliances, marble-clad primary baths with Waterworks fixtures, zoned HVAC systems, and in-unit Miele washer/dryers.

Residents of the rentals and condos alike will have access to over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities managed by Life Time. These include:
- Outdoor pool wrapped around the bank’s iconic Gustavino dome
- Double-height pool lounge with shuffleboard, cocktail bar, and skyline views
- Sky Park with basketball court, children’s playground, and what’s been described as “the world’s highest dog run”
- Library lounge with coworking space and adjacent conference rooms
- Screening room with wet bar
- Children’s playroom with pantry and reading nook
- Billiards room with bar
- Living room lounge
- State-of-the-art fitness center with separate studios for cycling, yoga, and barre, and a whirlpool
