Sunday, November 20 marks the first day of the 2022 FIFA Men's World Cup in Qatar. While this year's event has attracted considerable controversy seemingly from the time it was announced, that may not be enough to deter diehard fans who are ready to watch at all hours of the day.

The New York City Football Club was founded in May 2013; nearly 10 years and several games in Yankee Stadium later, it was announced that the Willets Point development will include a professional soccer stadium, the first in New York City. Completion is estimated for 2027; in other words, too late for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with host cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. However, the New York City area will not be left out — the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ will be among the host cities.
