The Ester (Brown Harris Stevens) The Ester (Brown Harris Stevens)
Between growing demand for housing, restrictions imposed by historic districts, and hybrid work models that mean proximity to Manhattan's central business districts is no longer a must-have, the Brooklyn boutique building boom shows no sign of slowing down. Much of this has come up in the form of condos, but some rentals have taken shape. Among them is The Ester, a townhouse at 1481 Sterling Place in Crown Heights that developer OTTE Partners expanded and renovated into an eight-unit rental.

Leasing is underway with studios starting at $2,200/month and one-bedrooms starting at $2,350/month. CityRealty listings show that this puts it slightly below the Crown Heights median of $2,880/month for studios and $3,340/month for one-bedrooms. The Milano Rambarran Team at Brown Harris Stevens is handling the leasing and marketing efforts.
While The Ester is not the most amenity-rich new building to take shape in the area, it does offer ButterflyMX virtual doorman service and a common roof terrace with open views of Brooklyn. There isn't a gym in the building, but it is located a few blocks from Crunch Fitness and Blink Fitness outposts. It is also well situated near Lincoln Terrace/Arthur S. Somers Park, the Weeksville Heritage Center, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Utica Avenue dining, and the Utica Avenue 2, 3, and 4 trains.
