Making its debut in 2016, the rental residence at 2222 Jackson Avenue in the heart of Long Island City features a strongly sculpted façade that blurs the line between functional design and a work of art. The exterior was crafted by ODA Architects and the rental building rises to 11 floors. Inside are 175 sleek and efficiently designed apartments constructed with convenience in mind.

Layouts come with up to three bedrooms and the homes offer clean lines and finishes with expansive window walls, white oak floors and plenty of storage. Leasing is by Triumph Property Group and select listings show 1 month free on a 13-month lease and 2 months free on a 14-month lease. Prices start at $2,262/month for a studio, $2,786/month for a 1 bedroom and $3,596/month for a 2 bedroom.

Interiors have wide white oak plank flooring throughout and architectural touches like cement ceilings. In many units, you'll find views of the Long Island City skyline and even some that stretch to the Manhattan skyline. Smart features like double rod closets create ample storage space. Homes offer functional kitchens, climate control, Bosch appliances, and laundry is available on every floor though some units have their own washer/dryer. Select units are equipped with private terraces.

Long Island City is full of new buildings but 22-22 Jackson Avenue is easily recognized for its standout design. Next door, another newly constructed building at 22-18 Jackson Avenue has official launched. The 175-unit condominium also rises to 11 floors and units are currently selling from $570,000 (Residence 514). Directly north of these developments is the 47-story 5Pointz residential building which is under construction, though topped out.

At 22-22 Jackson avenue, building amenities include a triple-height lobby with a full-time doorman, on-site parking, a fitness center, an indoor sky-lit swimming pool, and a rooftop deck. The dynamic structure is distinguished by an exposed concrete exterior, boxy windows trimmed in red, and projecting volumes. It's located across from MoMA PS1, a museum that brings an innovative and creative flare to the neighborhood.
