The Pod Hotel rooms may be small but their reach is growing. Now with five locations in New York City, Pod recently opened a Pod Brooklyn in Williamsburg and a 28-story Pod Times Square in Midtown West that offers short and long-term fully furnished options.
Aside from micro-hotel rooms, the Times Square location, at 400 West 42nd Street, is offering 45 short-term and long-term one- and two-bedroom apartments for rent. Called “Pod Pads,” these apartments range from 600 to 800 square feet and every fully furnished Pod Pad has a full kitchen (they proudly state “no mini fridges here!”), a dining room table and a living room. The top floor of Pod Times Square has special amenities exclusively for Pod Pad guests which include an indoor/outdoor lounge with panoramic views, a gym, and a self-serve laundry room. Pod Pad rates start at $4,000/month and guests can stay for up to four months at a time.

Perhaps most the most notable feature of Pod Pads is unlike typical New York apartments, there is no broker charge or security deposit. Guests can pay by credit card with no fee, and get all the Pod Hotel perks, “vibrant communal spaces and lively events, bar and a full-service restaurant, housekeeping, cable and WiFi, and downstairs concierge.”

In addition to the Pod Pads, the Pod Times Square has a whopping 665, 115-square feet rooms offering “chic, simplistic, and affordable rooms with ultra-comfy beds, connectivity for all your gadgets, and en-suite bathrooms with rainfall showers.” Their hotel rooms highlight the calm provided by their soundproof windows with room options varying between standard bunk, queen, and full rooms. Nightly rates at Pod Hotels start from $75

Last October, the chain opened Pod Brooklyn at 247 Metropolitan Avenue. The five-story modular building designed by Garrison Architects has 249 rooms with large picture windows that overlook several landscape courtyards, window shutters, light dimmers, and personal climate control. Each room ranges from 100 to 150 square feet in size which allows the company to tap into the younger, less-affluent market where room prices range from $120 to $200 per night. Lively common areas include a Salvation Taco restaurant and a rooftop bar with capacity for approximately 400 guests,
Last month, the Clinton Hall craft beer emporium just opened its first Brooklyn outpost at Pod Brooklyn. This Williamsburg hotspot is offering burgers, games, like Jenga and a giant chess board and “viral desserts.” Clinton Hall is also showing all the World Cup games on its large screen TV with matching drink specials including $5 Bitburgers and $20 Modelo/Corona buckets.
