More Than Views - A Closer Look at Jersey City's 53-Story Rental, Journal Squared

Jersey City, NJ - New high-rise rental Journal Squared made its debut in 2017 and at 53 stories, it's one of the taller developments transforming the historic Journal Square neighborhood, but renters are after more than just the views. Spacious residences, open floor plans and an alluring amenity package are reeling them in, and a close look at the building reveals an exciting rental community just across the Hudson.

Kushner Real Estate Group and National Real Estate Advisors are the developers, and architecture firms HWKN & Handel designed the 53-story building - the first of three towers to be built for the Journal Squared development. The others, one will rise to 60 floors and the other to 70, will create a residential complex of more than 1,800 apartments.

Building critic Carter Horsley calls the project "one of the nation’s most striking residential high-rise complexes," and inside is just as impressive. Leasing launched for the studio to three-bedroom apartments earlier this year and availabilities are priced starting from $2,040/month, but the building's penthouse collection has just debuted.

The first pair of penthouses has been released and includes a 31st floor one-bed/one-bath for $2,480/month, and a 30th floor two-bed/two-bath for $3,500/month. Currently, all new leases offer two months free on an 18-month lease (listings reflect the net effect rent). Check out listings and floor plans on the Journal Squared website.

Interiors are designed by Christopher Stevens, who has styled private homes across the East Coast, and feature a modern, sophisticated selection of materials and furnishings. Many homes have views of the Manhattan skyline with features like hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, central air and in-home washers/dryers.

Journal Squared has more than 10,000 square feet of amenities, also designed by Christopher Stevens, and the new photography gives us a closer look at everything from the double-height lobby to the impressive 53-story observatory.

While not only about the views, they are certainly a perk of living here. The Sky Lounge, located atop the building, is the perfect place to take-in or show-off panoramic views of the New York City skyline. The space features a retractable movie screen and stadium seating, and large tables for formal dinners or casual gatherings.

The building has a tastefully designed double-height lobby with paneled walls, custom light fixtures and seating, featuring 24-hour concierge and also a light-filled lounge for residents. Journal Squared's spacious apartments with up to three bedrooms have more than enough space for families, but there is also a colorful children's playroom to entertain the little ones. Residents also have access to the in-home hospitality platform Hello Alfred.

On the 8th floor is Club JSQ, a full floor of amenities designed for work and play. It has a library ideal for those who work from home, areas to lounge or be productive, and there is also free WiFi and plenty of outlets. And as a truly unique feature, the space opens to a sun terrace with an outdoor swimming pool.
