Located where the Bowery, East 4th Street and Cooper Square intersect, the site was previously a parking lot and was developed by Atlantic Development Group, and the new building was designed by GKV Architects. As part of the project, a townhouse adjacent to the site that was one of the city's first landmarked buildings underwent a gut renovation.

The 1847 Greek Revival townhouse had fallen into dilapidation, and the developers worked with conservations and drawings by the original architects to restore the structure, according to the New York Times. Known as the Skidmore House and also a rental building, its ten luxury units offer exposed brick, sleeping lofts and skylights, though all units are currently leased out.

The buildings are in a great downtown location with endless dining, shopping and nightlife options. In the past couple of years, Cooper Square and Astor Place were reconstructed by WXY Studio as part of a pedestrian improvement plan, and the new linked plazas are a pleasant asset to the streetscape.

Key destinations in the area include Cooper Union, The Alamo, Washington Square Park and also McSorely's Old Ale House, the city's oldest bar. On the same block at 2 Cooper Square is the Merchant's House Museum, a neighborhood gem worth showing off to friends.
