While the past few months have seen frenzied leasing activity and price hikes throughout New York, the rental market is starting to stabilize. A recent report from Douglas Elliman found that in October 2021, the median Manhattan rent came within $5 of the median rent for October 2019 (used here as a typical year). The New York City Recovery Index concurs, considering the rental market to have effectively recovered from the pandemic.

In this landscape, CityRealty listings show a total of 5,967 publicly listed apartments for rent throughout New York City. The median Manhattan rent comes to $3,985/month for one-bedrooms and $5,771/month for two-bedrooms.

Last week, 177 apartments for rent throughout New York City experienced price cuts. A full, sortable chart of newly discounted listings may be found below. And because a major part of New York’s allure is its activities and excitement, we also present a selection of entertainment, cultural, and culinary events for the weekend ahead.

This weekend, you can pick it up at Temperance Wine Bar in the Village.
