From May 16-22, there were a total of 304 apartment sales recorded in Manhattan with an aggregate price of $507,000,000 and a median price of $927K. The 133 condo sales came to a median price of $1.44 million, or $1,395 per square foot. The 165 co-op sales came to a median price of $725K.
The top sale of the week was the Tribeca penthouse of Courtney Ross, philanthropist and founder of The Ross School in East Hampton. The penthouse at 515 High Line, a new condominium along the High Line and close to Hudson Yards, was originally listed for $8.5 million. It recently closed for $6,571,775, or 23 percent less than the asking price.
From May 17-23, 2021, a total of 37 luxury contracts priced $4 million and up were signed in Manhattan. This is the same number as the previous week, and extends the streak of 30 or more luxury contracts to 16 weeks in a row. The total weekly asking price sales volume came to $282,785,000.
