Rental Building News and Offers

At the beginning of June 2021, CityRealty listings show a total of 10,966 publicly listed apartments in core areas of New York, down 13.6 percent from the 12,692 at the beginning of May 2021; meanwhile, the Manhattan median rent has climbed to $3,233 from $3,148 in the same time period. In between, the rise in vaccinations has allowed New York to lift capacity restrictions for many public places, reopen offices, and allow traditional summer events like Shakespeare in the Park and Pride Month celebrations to take place again (albeit with safety precautions in effect).

Last week, a total of 488 listings experienced price reductions in a move to either draw renewed attention to the apartments or come closer in line with the current market. A full list may be found below and sorted by price, neighborhood, or size.

One of the most appealing parts of New York life is the apparent ability to have everything one could possibly need or want within a few blocks of one's buildings.
