Located at 245 East 124th Street, Tapestry is one of Harlem's first buildings to be designed with a focus on environmental sustainability. It was erected in 2010 as the first LEED-certified building in the neighborhood and includes features to reduce energy consumption by an estimated 20 percent. Rising to 12 floors, inside are 185 apartments in 26 layouts including duplex units and homes with private terraces. Current listings show net-effective prices for one-bedrooms starting at $2,095/month and two-bedrooms starting at $3,050/month; see them here.
Apartments have oversized, double and tripled-glazed windows that let light in but keep the heat out, helping to keep apartments cooler in the summer, and there are digital climate controls in each room. Kitchens are designed in natural tones, and have bamboo cabinetry and Energy Star appliances. There are water-conserving plumbing fixtures, and select units are equipped with Bosh washers/dryers. Non-smoking and pet-friendly units are also available.
