The two-building development at 215 and 216 Freeman Street in Greenpoint is nearing the finish line and has added more than 50 rental units to the neighborhood. The first building to be complete, 215 Freeman Street, launched leasing earlier this year for its 25 units and now, the building at 216 Freeman Street has launched leasing for its 30 units. Both new building rise to six floors and offer a variety of layouts - and the first building is already fully leased.

At 216 Freeman Street, listings show 1 bedrooms from $2,975/month, 2 bedrooms from $3,045/month and 3 bedrooms from $4,150/month. The buildings were designed by StudiosC and the development was previously dubbed "McGuinness Twins," so named for their corner location at the intersection of Freeman Street and McGuinness Boulevard. Leasing is handled by EXR. The building has nine units reserved for an affordable housing lottery and qualified applicants may apply on NYC HousingConnect by October 2nd.

All units have incredible natural light through oversized windows, polished concrete floors, private balconies, HVAC heating/cooling system, and built-in Bluetooth speakers. Kitchens come equipped with Caesarstone countertops, marble backsplashes, and stainless steel appliances.

Building amenities include a roof deck, fitness center and yoga room, laundry room, and interior garage, where parking is available for a fee. The building is relatively close to transit including the 7 and G trains and also ferry service at India Street.

Back in 2015, permits were filed for the two nearly-identical buildings and the attractive development takes cues from the neighborhood's not-so-distant industrial past. There is a variety of rental of buildings in Greenpoint and there can be a big range in prices. Current listings on CityRealty show median prices in Greenpoint at $2,095/month for studios, $2,600/month for 1 bedrooms, $3,300/month for 2 bedrooms and $4,000/month for 3 bedrooms.
