American Copper Buildings Prepare for Fall Leasing

American Copper Buildings at 626 First Avenue appear as though they are engaged in a dance. American Copper Buildings at 626 First Avenue appear as though they are engaged in a dance.
A pair of copper-clad buildings situated on the East River in Murray Hill will soon be dancing the day and night away. JDS Development's American Copper Buildings at 626 First Avenue top out at 41 and 48 stories, connecting 300 feet in the air with an iconic skybridge that gives the illusion of the buildings engaged in a dance. Designed by SHoP Architects, both are clad in beautiful copper.
The buildings are now preparing for leasing this fall for their 761 no-fee residences. A housing lottery launched in August for the building’s affordable units (20% of the total 761). Prices for these units range from $833/month for studios to $1,247/month for 3-bedrooms.

Residences will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, custom-designed oak floors, and 10-foot high ceilings. Kitchens will host Miele appliances and marble counters, and master baths will feature black pearl stone finishes.
The skydeck will host many of the building’s amenities including the 75-foot lap pool, a lounge, a bar, and a rooftop terrace. More amenities will include a rooftop infinity pool, a Hammam, a fitness center, private locker rooms, a children’s playroom, and a landscaped park at the northeastern corner of the site. The development will also host a porte cochere, a “curated marketplace”, concierge service, and underground parking.
The American Copper Buildings are readying for a leasing launch, and expect completion early next year.
