The Jersey City mixed-use community of Newport is growing, and this summer a new 41-story luxury rental building will open on its waterfront. Ellipse is the official name of the curved glass tower and a newly launched teaser site reveals a summer 2017 grand opening for its 381 studio to four-bedroom units. With entirely unobstructed views, a recent press release says the residences will offer "never-before-seen views of the Manhattan skyline" just across the Hudson River.
Apartments have oversized windows and the views will certainly be the selling-point. They'll also feature plenty of closet space, in-unit washers/dryers and premium bathroom and kitchen fixtures. Pricing for studio to three-bedroom units will range from $2,600 to $5,300 per month (four-bedroom and penthouse pricing is forthcoming), and residents will have access to several amenities including an outdoor pool deck and barbecue area, a fitness center, lounge, children's playroom, game room, co-working space, 24-hour doorman and parking garage. Leasing is schedule to being in April for summer move-ins.

LeFrak is the developer of both Newport and Ellipse, and the latter broke ground in December 2015. HLW served as the project's executive architect and it was designed by Arquitectonica, the firm's first project in Jersey City.
