As renters get priced or crowded out of the five boroughs, cities like Hoboken, Jersey City, and the area in between are emerging as highly viable and desirable alternatives. The 377 apartments at Soho Lofts (273 16th Street) are helping to ease this demand, and the recently revealed amenities are also catching up to the building’s New York counterparts, if not leaving them in the dust.
Residents and visitors are greeted by a soaring, two-story lobby that would be at home in a five-star hotel. From there, the amenities provide a stylish, comfortable atmosphere that encourages a sense of community among residents. The party room with a demonstration kitchen is perfect for large gatherings, but smaller-scale social events and interactions could also take place in the business center, lounge, media room, or arcade lounge with billboards and shuffleboard. The fully equipped fitness center has an indoor/outdoor yoga room and a sauna to wind down post-workout. No one is left out; Soho Lofts also has dog grooming suites and a children’s playroom.
Outdoor amenities will make their debut this spring at a perfect time to enjoy them. The building’s expansive deck will host an infinity pool, poolside cabanas, outdoor shower, gas grills with prep stations, fireside seating, outdoor television, Zen garden, hammock area, event pavilion, dog park, and playground.
“Amenities play a significant role in a renter’s decision” – Louis Mont, COO, Manhattan Building Company
Soho Lofts’ apartments are equal to its amenities, if not superior. Expansive windows let in stunning skyline views but none of the disruption; they are covered in sound-insulating glass, and all bedrooms have solar shades. Kitchens are equipped with granite countertops, designer cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances. Additional features include high ceilings, exposed duct work, and in-unit washer/dryer. Availabilities range from studios starting at $2,550/month to three-bedrooms starting at $5,100/month. Immediate occupancy is available.
Location is a key factor in both the decision to live there and Soho Lofts’ amenities and services. There is a complimentary shuttle to area PATH stations, and on-site valet parking makes things easier for drivers. However, Soho West (“south of Hoboken, west of New York”) is rapidly shaping up as a destination in its own right with its nearby dining, shopping, entertainment, and parks.
