From June 14-20, 2023, a total of 306 sales listings throughout New York City experienced price reductions. Among them was 167 East 80th Street, the Carnegie Hill townhouse of acclaimed interior designer Muriel Brandolini. Her website describes her aesthetic as "modernist-tropical" (a nod to her Vietnamese, Venezuelan, and French heritage), and this comes through in her use of vivid colors and tasteful styling. The World of Muriel Brandolini was published by Rizzoli in 2011, and her designs and eponymous fabric line have been featured in publications like Vogue, Vanity Fair, Elle Decor, and Architectural Digest.

Ms. Brandolini has a high-profile client list, but her true showpiece may be the Upper East Side townhouse. She and her family have owned it since the mid-1990s (h/t Architectural Digest), and public records indicate that she paid $1 million for it, buying it from art dealer Maurice E. Hall Jr. Over the past few decades, she has transformed and redesigned the space. Their next move is not clear, but the family owns properties in the Hamptons and Paris as well as Manhattan.

The Upper East Side house was originally listed for $9.5 million in May 2022, but its price has recently been reduced to $7,750,000.
