134 East 28th Street is now offering five newly renovated units for rent in the Kips Bay/Gramercy Park neighborhood, all of which are no fee. The property is finishing up a conversion that will reposition it from a 4-story, 36-foot-tall convent, to a 6-story, 5-unit residential building. The Order of Saint Helena sold its property for $2.6 million to Friedman Family Holdings, LLC in March of 2013. According to Department of Building records filed in September of that year, the firm tapped Tarlan Design Build for the design of their new residential structure. Renderings show a contextual black and redbrick façade with square windows and a rung of fire escapes overlooking the lovely tree-lined block.
