A re-energized focus on the city’s 520 miles of shoreline in recent years has been a boon for waterfront-loving New Yorkers, and the trend will continue into 2018 when Williamsburg’s monumental 420 Kent Avenue rental development makes its debut. ODA New York’s design of three 22-story, multi-dimensional glass towers gives 80% of the 857 apartments “corner unit” layouts, allowing for 3-sided views and private terraces. The development includes 80,000 square feet of outdoor space for residents, including a 400-foot-long esplanade on a newly activated waterfront just south of the Williamsburg Bridge.

Pricing for 420 Kent’s studio, 1- and 2-bedroom apartments has not been revealed, but its teaser site recently debuted announcing the summer 2018 launch with leasing to be handled by Citi Habitats. Spitzer Enterprises is the developer and brought ODA on board to create the dynamic structure which avoids the typical 2-dimensional form. “By using two standard floor plans and mirroring them around the central axis we create three distinct towers featuring multi-dimensional façades,” according to the firm. The towers will be prominent in the new Brooklyn skyline and will have sweeping views of the city. There will be 25,000 square feet of amenities including a pair of rooftop pools on the 7th floor, a private park, roof decks and terraces, and a beach volleyball court.
