Earlier this month, we reported that leasing has begun on Long Island City’s tallest finished apartment building, 1 QPS Tower. Topping off at more than 500 feet and just a few short blocks from the East River waterfront, the building offers renters incredible views of the Manhattan skyline at a fraction of the prices available across the river.
Developed by Property Markets Group, the 44-story glass-enclosed rental building holds 391 apartments ranging from studios to two-bedrooms priced from $1,989/month. The building features an array of amenities that include onsite parking, a double-height fitness center, and an outdoor rooftop pool that is the highest we know of in the city.

The tower sits directly parallel to Midtown’s rising ”Billionaires’ Row” along 57th Street, offering residents front-row seats to the dramatic transformation of the skyline when skyscrapers such as 111 West 57th Street, Central Park Tower, 53W53 and 3 Sutton Place begin their climb. Closer to home on Roosevelt Island, Cornell’s new technology campus will continue to take shape, and on the Queen’s side, the large Silvercup Studios redevelopment will become a reality.

The southwestern view reveals the romantic spires of the Empire State and Chrysler buildings. Also in view are other notable icons such as the United Nations Secretariat Building, Trump World Tower, and Louis Kahn’s Four Freedoms Park. In the coming years, One Vanderbilt, Midtown’s future tallest office building, will also rise into view.

Residents with southern and eastern exposures will see the rapid rise of Long Island City. The neighborhood’s future tallest building, Two Court Square will rise directly next to the current tallest building One Court Square. Views of the Brooklyn and Queens waterfronts will evolve dramatically as dozens of residential high-rises become a reality. Additionally, 1 QPS residents will have front-and-center views of the Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks when they are on at the East River.
