Rental Building News and Offers
New residential skyscraper 555Ten is located at 10th Avenue and West 41st Street, at the nexus of Hell’s Kitchen and the quickly evolving Hudson Yards neighborhood. Construction of the 52-story building from Extell Development is nearly complete, and leasing will begin this month for an early October occupancy. New residents can select lofts, one, two and three bedroom layouts from its 478 rental units. A website recently launched this summer for the building, and apartment-seekers can register for a priority leasing list.
SLCE Architects designed the building, which is sheathed in a reflective glass skin and features vertical stainless steel accents. It topped-out last September at nearly 650 feet and now towers over its neighborhoods, including the timeless neo-gothic Church of Saints Cyril & Methodius and St. Raphael. Air rights were purchased from the church in 2012 for $16.5 million, according to reports. The $480 million project encompasses 725,000 square feet of floor area and has 300 dormitories on the 2nd through 7th floors, with 478 luxury rental apartments above. A fifth of the rental units are reserved for low-income renters.
Apartments are finished with wood flooring, stainless steel appliances, Porcelanosa tile in bathrooms, and a washer/dryer bundle. Residents can choose from a dark or light interior color scheme for floors, kitchen cabinetry, and bath vanities.
A highlight of the building is its 30,000 square feet of amenity and service space. Interiors are by New York-based firm McGinley Design which created a refined double-height lobby to greet residents, complete with a 24-hour doorman and concierge. It will have a health and wellness center on the 9th floor with staffed reception and changing rooms, providing residents with an indoor saltwater lap pool, a weight training room, a yoga studio, and a cardio/fitness room. Other amenities include a rooftop pool and sundeck with cabanas, an all-season rooftop club and bar with an indoor/outdoor fireplace, an arcade, a bowling alley, a children's play room, and indoor bike storage with a service station. Pets are welcomed with an outdoor dog park and a full-service pet care facility.
Rising on the border of Hudson Yards, 555Ten is only one of many residential skyscrapers transforming the West Side. Over the next decade, the Hudson Yards megaproject will include 17 million square feet of commercial and residential space, state-of-the-art office towers, over 100 shops, a collection of restaurants, 14 acres of public space, and a new center dubbed “The Culture Shed” for artistic invention and events.
